All consultations with the doctors and nurses require an appointment.
Telephone 01204 462630
Some of our appointments are released daily and others are pre-bookable increasing patient choice and access.
We will always try and make extra slots for emergencies but you may be asked to speak to a doctor before taking one of these
Appointments are 10 minutes long. If you have a number of issues to discuss please make seperate appointments.
It is also helpful to try and see the same doctor for follow-up of test results or an episode of illness. Whilst we appreciate that this may not always be possible for urgent matters it will help you by not having to go through your history again with a new doctor
Home visits are reserved for those patients who are terminally ill or genuinely bedbound and unable to travel by car or taxi. Remember it takes a doctor approximately 40mins to do a home visit with travelling time
Do you think your probem could be dealt with over the phone?
If you think a home visit is necessary please phone the surgery before 10.00am as this will help us organise our day. The receptionist may ask for further details. This information is confidential and is required by the doctor to decide which calls should be given priority. Please leave a current phone number as the doctor may ring you back to discuss the visit request
Please call between 3.00pm and 4.00pm to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times.
Please remember the reception staff are not clinically trained and are unable to comment on results other than to advise if they are normal or if further action is needed. If you are worried about your test results then please ask to speak to a doctor or nurse about them
Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.
When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.
It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if you are advised to do so.
If you feel you simply need advice or reassurance, your doctors are available by telephone. These are booked consultations (the same as a routine appointment).
Please book a consultation with reception.
Patients can now book and cancel appointments online. You will require our practice ID and a password, created at the surgery, to create your online account www.patient-services.co.uk. Ask at reception next time your in surgery.
